Tissus Anciens was born out of a passion for historical costuming, a master's degree in history focused on material culture, and a love of all things French!
Our exquisite printed French fabrics are amongst the most historically accurate on the market. They are reproduced from antique 18th-century French fabric remnants stored in our textile library onto quality base fabrics.
Furthermore, they are manufactured in France by a company with over 140 years of experience in fabric printing, now using cutting-edge, eco-friendly technology. As a result, our fabrics are a perfect fusion of the old and the new. Created exclusively by Tissus Anciens you won’t find them anywhere else.
Reproduction fabrics are perfect for period costumes, museums, historical homes and buildings. We welcome inquiries from costume, fashion, and interior designers, as well as museum display experts. Also, if you might be interested in selling our fabrics, we would love to hear from you.
Personal Design Collection
Tissus Anciens fabrics are reproduced at a very high quality, from designs in our own collection. Unlike fabrics cheaply reproduced from online images, the feel of the fabric, the scale of the pattern, and the correctness of the colors are all verified against the real thing.
They are created using eco-friendly digital printing at a factory in France that has been printing fabric since 1880. Working with them also supports our business goals of sustainability and reduced carbon-footprint, as well as local economic impact.
